About the author

A co-founder of Diwan Al-Omran, Ibrahim Ezzeldin is an Egyptian urban planner and researcher with a diverse academic background in the humanities at Sorbonne University, linguistic and literary studies at Paris 8 University in France, in addition to his studies in urban planning at the Faculty of Engineering, Al-Azhar University in Cairo. His work focuses on urban development, resisting forced evictions, achieving environmental and urban balance, and advocating for residents' rights. He previously worked as an urban researcher at the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms, then as director of MUNAKH, an environmental research collective, and was formerly a non-resident fellow at the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy.
