Writing tracks
Investigative report
Addresses a real public issue within Diwan's fields of work, starts from a clear specific question, and relies on multiple, diverse sources with field evidence from documented testimonies, photos or videos.
- Proposal
- A 200–300 word summary describing the topic, the main question, the approach and some of the sources.
- Final format
- 1,500–2,000 words
Analytical article
Addresses a current or past problem within Diwan's fields of work; rather than merely describing the phenomenon, it deconstructs, interprets and connects its elements to offer a solid understanding.
- Proposal
- A 200–300 word summary describing the topic and the main question the article seeks to answer.
- Final format
- 1,500–2,000 words
Research paper
Addresses a current or past problem within Diwan's fields of work, follows scientific method, and carries a title that reflects its central issue.
- Proposal
- A 300–500 word summary fully explaining the research problem, its main and secondary questions, and the methodology to be used.
- Final format
- 4,500–6,000 words
Contribution criteria
We produce in-depth analyses grounded in rigorous scientific foundations that yield practical, applicable proposals. Please meet the following criteria before submitting.
Subject
Based on the study of a current or past problem related to Diwan Al-Omran's fields of work.
Solutions
The proposal offers practical, realistic and achievable solutions to the problem under study, grounded in a clear analytical approach.
Sources
The analysis relies on credible sources, in this order: published academic sources, civil society organisation papers, official government data, and reputable national and independent newspapers.
Human rights
Submissions must not conflict with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
Original text
Original texts by their author, not previously published or submitted elsewhere, and not generated by artificial intelligence tools; we use plagiarism and AI-detection tools.
Notice
If the conditions above are not met, Diwan Al-Omran reserves the right not to accept the proposal for publication.
Diwan Al-Omran's commitments
Acknowledgement of receipt
A confirmation of receipt within one week of the proposal's arrival.
Response to the proposal
The review outcome within two to four weeks: acceptance and start of collaboration, a request for changes or clarifications, or a decline.
Financial compensation
A fee for every investigation, article or paper after final delivery and approval of the final version.
Publication date
Publication dates are set after delivery, in line with Diwan Al-Omran's publishing plan and priorities.
